I find it refuses to let me copy files larger than a few GB's to my EMPTY 16GB flash. It comes at me saying its full, though its obviously not. Suggestions?
I got a new TV and I want to watch Bluray via USB as my wireless does not have enough bandwidth to pass it to the TV via DLNA without stopping every 5 seconds.

Check the format of the Flash Drive, if it is FAT32 it will not handle files bigger then 4GB. You may need to reformat the drive as NTFS. Check the manu website for details how to reformat from FAT32/NTFS.
The reason for still using FAT32 on Flash/USB Drive is that it does not wear out the memory circuits so quickly. NTFS uses more read/write commands then FAT32.
