really liking that MSI GD80. The V-Kit voltage monitoring is a really nice bonus and is a first i think? Looks to be one of the most feature rich out of the sub 200 dollar boards.

guru3d only got their 870 to 3.8 with 1.4v?
20x190 only? 0_o

tech reports specs for the boards are all messed up...
thats the worst techreport review ive ever seen
their stuff is usually top notch... weird...

it says the ud6 only supports bclocks from 100-120? lol...
and cpu multi only up to 20 for a 750 while the other boards go up to 21?
the asus board has no memory and qpi multiplier settings at all?
the gigabytes qpi setting is 23x and 36x?
the msi has dram multipliers labeled 3x 4x and 5x??
the msi board has no cpu pll voltage setting?

H needed huge volts to get their 750 stable at 4g as well... sounds like 750s dont oc that well after all?
getting a 920 to 4g is a piece of cake... weird why its so hard for the 750s...

I did manage to get the board to stabilize rather superbly at a 4.0GHz speed, with a 1600MHz memory speed and a 200MHz base clock, after setting the P55 SATA controller to IDE mode. The system remained stable for well over a day without issue. The voltages required were a bit less as well, with a CPU voltage of 1.475V, a CPU VTT voltage of 1.567V, a PCH 1.8(V) voltage of 2.20V and a PCI 1.05(V) voltage of 1.304V.

Yes, that's right.

I'm not sure but mine can run stable at 4.0 with 1.35v. I need to try lower voltage anyway...
1.56v vtt for 200bclk?!

I see a lot of product show-offs, but very little real reviews with comparison between different products. Why are people calling these marketing stunts "good reviews"?

Yeah where are the 30 page P55 roundups? So far we just have a trickle of mostly cursory crap with few comparisons.

i did performance comparision ...

http://pctuning.tyden.cz/ilustrace3/obermaier/P55_MSI/vykon.png

which comparision you need? In OC? Every boards are not limit for OC, CPU is! .. cause locked unCore multi. You can make everything but cannot to break CPU unCore freq limit ... my Retail Ci5 750 has limit around 4 GHz, and without LN2 you cannot to break it ...

What it looks like to me all boards have pretty much the same OC and performance, the CPU sample is what really matters.

With my usual luck I get slightly worse than average samples so my guess is the i7-860 will barely reach 4.0GHz at rather high voltage.

Initial batches doesn't seem too impressive, it's the same thing it was for the first batches for Bloomfield too (A stable 24/7 4.0~4.1GHz clock on air was concidered good for a 920 but now it's like 100~200MHz higher than at the launch). I'm sure it's just matter of time when they hit clock/voltage results like D0 9xx because it's very close but not quite at that level if we talk average results.

That 5.6 and 5.7GHz barrier is already broken at launch is an impressive achievement though.

Those numbers are interesting OBR, especially those of SPI1M and 4M. You have absolutely no difference between UD6 and GD80, here, the more calculations, the bigger the difference between both boards. Wprime results are also different (UD6 > GD80), cinebench results are also different, winrar also.

Using a 750 retail as well

Gigabyte P55-UD6 / P55-UD6 and MSI P55-GD80
Almost two weeks after the official release of the Core i5 platform, we review three LGA1156 motherboards. We put the Gigabyte P55-UD3 and UD6 through the same batch of tests as the MSI P55-GD80 and check who comes out on top. Next to that we have some surprising results for those who want to use Turbo mode and also have a look at the extreme overclocking capabilities of both high-end motherboards. Last but not least we publish our findings on the maximum voltages for the Core i5 platform.
