Asus Rampage II Extreme PCI-E slots?

Regarding the Rampage II Extreme.

As it has 3 pci-e slots (and I know for certain the top two blue slots run at 16x16x), what speed does the bottom slot run at if you do dual card crossfire with the first and third slot? I would prefer this as it provides better spacing in terms of airflow for the lower card.

Do two cards run at 16x16x in this config?

I know for sli it is 16x16x8 and crossfire it is 16x8x4 i believe. Though i know in the bios you can manually set the bus speed on the lane. Just not sure if you can reverse it like you are saying.

The setting is under "Advanced, NorthBridge chipset Configuration".

The third slot will always only run at 8x because it is only 8x electrical.

Possible combos are:

1: 16x 16x

2: 16x 8x

3: 1x 8x
