4GHz was easy

http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/6492/4ghzl.jpg

from 4GHz and above the CPU was not stable, only at voltage of 1.53 and up.

http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/1609/42ghz1600ddr2.jpg

after changes in the skew/voltage i success to reach :

http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/8863/43ghz1600ddr.jpg

the max BCLK for now is 207.MHz.

http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/8392/topkj.png

i am waiting for better cooling, and i hope i will reach more BCLK.

What diid you change skew to?

1.5V needed for over 4GHz? Did you get a dud or something?

looks like lga 1175 aren't great in OC'ing, lowest vcore I saw in reviews for i7 860 @ 4GHz was 1.33 ~ 1.35v, seems like lga 1366 oc's better

uh, what a crap CPU.....

i had no i5-750 which was that worse! my best i5 can do 4Ghz @ ~1.29v and 4.1Ghz @ ~1.34v on air stable :)

I'm not sure why you say that for. As the c0's takes a little more then that to hit 4grz on the i7 920 socket. So if you cut off HT then it is pretty close to being the same.

Though i would like to see some everest, sandra {memory & cpu scores} and cinebench scores.

With i5 the pci-e controller is on the CPU and the freq is tied to the BCLK

so its not a crap cpu, just poor implementation of the controller (they should have locked it at 100mhz like mobo's do now)

What diid you change skew to?

i change it to 1300 (CPU SKEW), i start from "normal", then from 300 and on 1300 i have the best stability.

and yes the cpu was not stable below 1.53 voltage, as well he don't like changes in the PCI-E freq, as it lock on 100, when i change it in 1MHz, the all system crushed.

i lock it on 100, as you know in other systems, you can achive more stability with 105+- PCI-E freq, but here nothing, only 100MHz work.

I have a similar batch - 3.8Ghz 1.3V stable but for 4Ghz it needs at least 1.4V

Isnt it the first rev. of the cpu which usually need more vcore. The second one will need less if there any just like the old rev. change

The first batch tend to be always pretty good in my experience.

May be Intel want everyone to think they are great clockers to get the word around.

4.36GHz on air cooling is nice for our temperatures in Israel these days.
Too bad you can't use yet your water cooling for that system. I'm sure you could get some more juice out of it. :)

in first few pics with intel cooler, whats with the fluctuating clock's etc..?
guessing
Idle = you had all power saving stuff on then pi = turbo to 3.2 then OCCT = throttled?

Still PcCI2iminal seems to have a much better 750, quite avesome, almost like DO(see in his thread), soo it's seems that we return to the mith :the "vid".
The lower..the better..at stock it seems that it runs at 1.104v so 1.104 vid.

For us 3D guys; This type of data doesn't make the upgrade decision any easier. Hopefully a bunch of overclocking data comes in the next days and weeks... need to firm up this picture.

Out of curiosity why are you using a PS2 adapter for a USB device with plenty of ports left?
