I plan to build my first machine once Windows 7 is out. It sounds like the MB mfg. have (or will be) putting a lot of goodies like OC in Windows, USB 3.0 and Sata 3 on their 1156 MB's. Wondering how long it will be before they do this for the X58 1366 boards. Not ina rush so should I wait to see what they do with the newer 1366 socket boards?

Do not really want to go with the 1156 as i want to stay on the high end of the processors and I was told the 6 core CPU's will be with the 1366 socket.

Thanks

Hexacores will almost certainly be LGA1366, AFAIK 1156 won't get anything above a hyperthreaded quad. 1156 is really your price/performance platform if you game, giving you higher Turbo speeds, which will give a nice boost as most game engines make extremely poor use of multiple threads, and support for higher RAM speeds without having to OC things as far. As for SATA and USB III, given that current SATA devices are far from saturating the SATA II link or bus and most things that need USB III speed (ie. external HDDs) you can hook up to eSATA, I just wouldn't consider it at all as a factor in choosing a platform.
