Any one had edit your boot.ini to force the ram in window xp 32bit to higher than default? So when playing games it will go higher than 2gb (default form window) for one program?
Here is what I have edited I made that to 2.75gb for one program. I am trying to see what is the max I can do? 3.25gb?

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOW S
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /3GB /Userva=2750

That should work the way you want it to. The max you can go to is 3GB/program. Beyond that I think you're going to run into issues with just running Windows anyway.

The long term solution is, of course, a 64-bit OS.

Edit: I guess your next short-term solution could be also enabling PAE if it wouldn't conflict with anything else to allow you to actually use more than 4GB (total, not per-process)... but that can really get sticky with some programs

I am trying to enable the PAE but I want to make sure I got this right should I type this

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOW S
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /3GB /PAE /basevideo /sos

or

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOW S
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Professional" /PAE /basevideo /sos /fastdetect /3GB

or doesn't matter?

Thanks,
