Alright, I am in the process of building a new system and I would like to be part the 3d Mark Team here. I was wondering, what kind of score do you think I will get with the following system:

AMD XP1700 @ 2.4
Abit NF7-S @ 240FSB
SLK-900U w/92mm Panaflo
WD360 Raptor
R9800 Pro
TwinMOS PC3700

So, what kind of scores do think I will be able to yield ?

Hello there Brian welcome to Xtreme!

Just guessing i'd say 21-23.5k. Really depends on your cooling on the card and v-mods! Goodluck, wish i had a 9800p to play with too.:toast:

No prob, 21k IS more realistic but if the bug bites you might find yourself with some better cooling equipment around Christmas and a better score. ;P

Yeah, I was actually gonna get a brand new Chieftec Aluminum case and several Panaflo's to have a nice, cool case. I will also think about going WC. But, I will more than likely stick with AIR and I might get a heatpipe for the vid card. (Slight Possiblity on that though) Unless someone can recommend a good cooling option for the R9800 Pro ?

Second the 1U cooler or even a larger one. I have a GlobalWin CAKII i use on my cards for benching.

Yea, but the 1U only uses up 1 PCi slot, so it's kinda nice in that respect.

I had a stock Athlon cooler on my geforce 3 ti 200, and it worked well.

Hmm, the 1U cooler sounds pretty nice. I probably will need some help mounting that to the card. Won't it weigh the card down or something ? I really don't want to brake the one decent card that I have owned.

hu~~~~
nothing interesting!
the scores are only a game!
the real thing we gotta care for is how they do while playing!

lolz worldfar, if youre of that sentiment i must say you have come to the wrong forums(take no offense at that please), this is the home of most of the best BENCHMARKERS in the world, gaming means lots, but to many of us here BENCHMARKING means heaps aswell, XS is about pushing the limits and having something to show for it and benchmarks show it better and clearer then anything.;):toast:
