well i am very stuck at the moment between the EVGA x58 Classified and the Asus Rampage 2 Extreme.

i know they are both GREAT motherboards but to me each has pros and cons (from what i can see)

i like the classified as its very nice looking, is EVGA and can suport tri sli and physx.but its very expensive

the rampage is also nice looking (not as good as classified), it comes with alot more in the box than the classified (i,e x-fi sound card, separate POST screen etc.)

so my question is what do you think i should get?

i will be OC btw as im on water!

Thanks

Welshman

I've owned 3 R2Es and the best I can get a D0 920 to run is at 218x21.

Going to try the New Asus P6TD with the B3 stepping NorthBridge next to see if I can get further with a D0. such as 225-230 x 21.

Yep 4.5x with HT enabled.

It can do this running Vantage and 3DMark06.

I don't care about Prime.

out of those i would get the e760 classified, but i would get the dfi t3eh8, it has the voltera pwms and a strong bios like the classified (i would say better bios)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813136063

it even has an add in audio card

it all sounds nice, but the color schemes are just awful lol.

also i know that PWM stands for pulse width modulation but what exactly does this mean? i know its to do with the power control or somthing

I own the RIIE, very happy with it. I had to RMA it recently due to my own fault. It was also an open box from the egg. Asus honored the warranty, though. It's a mean board with good support.

I'm an Asus fan but I decided to go with eVGA this time since they have better support than Asus. Plus, it just comes down to price. I got my Classified for around $300 after 12.5% Bing cashback, $50 Instant rebate and $20 MIR, $1.99 shipping and no tax @ TigerDirect. Just got it today and can't wait to try it out till I get all my stuff next week.

nice one, to bad i live in Irleland, if i got it from tigerdirect i'd have to play customs etc.

otherwise i would get it from USA as i can save a large amount of money lol

For daily use I would choose REX2. For extreme use my choice is Classified:D
