I just came across this video card and was thrilled about it since it doesnt requier any aditional power. I did notice however that the core clock is down to 550mhz and the shader clock is lower too than the default 9800GT specs. What i was wondering is if its possible to overclock this card 'safely' without causing it do draw more power than within specs via PCI Expresss 2.0 specs? I did a bit of research and found that PCI-E 1.1 specs say that it can give somewhere around 75watts to a card where 2.0 specs say 200watts.

anybody have an idea or input on this?

thanks

Nope. PCI-E 1.1 and 2.0 both draw 75watts total from the slot. The specification change involves doubling the bandwidth/data rate.

interesting. so if i were to try to overclock this card and say i reach a clock where the card requiers more than 75 watts, will it draw more or will i notice artifacts/system crash? i searched all over for a tool to show me the current power drawn from a video card but i cant find anything. if i knew someway how much power the card is currently drawing, i wouldnt worry when i try to overclock the card but right now im blind and dont want to take a chance to risk my other components.
