Does any manufacturer currently produce a powerful phase change unit sold as a retail model, or must I seek out a custom builder?

I would like to keep a Deneb 940 loaded at -30C. Trying to order something quick if it's possible instead of waiting weeks on a build.

Thanks

Check out Cooler Express, they seem to have powerful single-stage units. Otherwise I recommend custom build.

This unit most likely would handle that... However what GHz are you wanting to keep at -30C?

In my testing-30C will yield 4.4GHz to 4.6GHz on Deneb. -70C(dry ice temps) yields 4.6GHz to 5GHz. -100C(cascade) yields 5GHz to 5.2GHz, -195C(full nitrogen) yields 5.5GHz to 6GHz. Deneb is temperature limited in most cases, it doesn't dump a lot of heat.

I checked out the Frozen CPU site and read that their unit was out of stock. Still pretty expensive compared to what I have seen custom built, but I'll credit the fact that they actually sell a retail model--in which there are few and far between.

I found out what you are talking about just by using chilled air from a mid-size A/C unit routed to the case. When I would approach 4Ghz+, it would always slowly climb towards 40 degrees, and then crash when it hit 41-43 degrees. It was only stable to around 3900Mhz.

Thinking about the expected gains, I almost wonder if a -30 degree temp would even be any fun to run on a Deneb. :shakes:

A cascade. Now that almost sounds so appealing at the moment... ;) Although, it probably would be transplanted onto an i7 before too long.

I'm off to check out the for-sale section as mentioned. Thanks to those who responded.
