Hi Guys,

Ive just managed to get a really good priced Vapochill (PE I believe) from ebay. The previous owner last ran it about 6 months ago, but has unfortunately lost the chillcontrol board. Now I thought straight away of just using an extra psu I have (350W) to power it instead and have found on the net that a few other pople have done this too. Now I need help because I cannot gt it to even start lol! Ive done the psu wire trick to get it to work without a mobo and have connected the 2 wire from th 4 pin mobo connctor to the + and - of the vapo, but its a no go . Hope you guys can help :)

Hope these pictures help

Bigger pictures might help.. I can't even see anything in that and they aren't even clickable thumbnails.

you have to set the ristance on to of the pins to tell it to start at lower volts :) well i had to with mine

Thanks alot EvoCarlos, that has helped me a lot! I've got my soldering iron and solder, just need to order my resistors now.

Thanks again! :D

Wow... looks crazy^^ :D

One question out of interest... what do you need such a weak unit for? For what kind of heatload may it be tuned with captube/condenser/evap modifications? I unforunately threw away one of the first vapochills when I was moving 1 year ago. Should I have kept it?! ;)

Hey SAE,

Well, first I'm going to get it running and just giv it a test on a Q6600. Then hopefully have time to modify it by refreshing the insulation (The more the better :)), regas to R404 or Co2 (Co2 is new to me, so I have to check that first) and tune for a heavier load. I'm hoping for about -40C at best. I also have LN2 graphics and CPU tubes so maybe use it for N/B cooling or CPU use for everyday. Shouldn't b that weak once I get it running though, better than water or air cooling. The BD50F is not a bad compressor...

Thats the plan :)

just to point out

there rubbish:)

there good for the old old gpu,s but not much else the nb will over power one and a q66 would just make it trip the over current switch

and there charged with r134a so you will be lucky to see anything better than -30c unloaded loaded with 100w would give you about -10 to -15 consider a q66 is 95w @ 2.4ghz and 280w @ 4.5ghz and above:cool:

heres mine on a stock 9500gt
