I think the 29723 score was done on a stock (R134a) Mach 2. Can't wait to see what he'll do in custom phase change or even a Cascade :eek: 30k is just around the corner.

I see your point, but I remember, for example, when QuadDamage took #1 with Athlon 64, Macci had a few scores saved that were higher than his, he had one just over 26k I recall.

not exactly. macci was over 26k mark when i posted #1 score and then he hit back and beat my by ~60 points or so. I wish i had an XT card now...

i expected the FX to break 30 k much sooner.
OP is having problems with registered ram.
the constraints of registered ram is worse than i thought.

for such ram limits, I am supprised he beat his own athlon64 score but then once the xp3400s come out, the fx will lose. the fx only wins cause its clocked much higher, that being the freedom of no locked multis

admitatly he is close to 30k but those last 300 marks could be the hardest 300 ever to achieve when even one more MHz overclock results in fast lockups :(

I see from the other thread that he is going to tweak further tonight so 30k is on.
I'm not counting Fugger out yet though, might be a very close finish. What happens if they both post within seconds of each other, then we'll never know who got there first. Maybe that would be best :)
Both guys have done really really good work on these new cpu's. It's a shame JC didn't have a good video card to be right at the very top as well.
I see macci has got -105C now, I hardly dare go to the phase change forum to see the comments ;) Maybe I need a protective suit on first.

I can hardly wait to see :) the night is almost over though, 3:30 am now! less than 300 marks shy from 30k this is highly exciting. boy will he be famous for that :D

He said in another thread, he no longer has the good card and he got the speed error due to forgetting to change his multi on boot. Changed it in windows using clockgen (or the like) and it picked up his CPU speed as different due to him booting on 13 if I remember rightly.

exactly, there was no stability issue only that 3DM picked up the boot speed and not the changed speed :(

If anyone has 30K, and is waiting to publish....that's a dangerous mistake. The first to 30k will be quite an honor, and I can't see anyone holding a score to risk being 2nd. Don't understand why FUGGER is dicking around with '03 when the race is on for '01!!!

IMO, Fugger isnt just faffing around with 03 as the race for 10K 03 is also on. OPPs highest score in 03 was done with approx 300MHz less core clock that his 01 score so he can still get much higher within 03 :D

Well I don't see much left in his rig for '03 really, infact looking at it since he update I hardly see anything left in his rig. I have to assume you are talking about cpu speed, although seeing a 900mhz Core Radeon would be a sight :D
But CPU speed isn't gonna gain him much at all in 2003, don't ya remember macci with his 3600mhz ;)

well actually macci's new cooling unit scares the heck out of me:D I mean it's hard to compete with you guys these days. first, there was a prommie, then there was a prommie running a r404a refrigerant, now people charge there prommie's with r507 at least (which is still "easy") but cascade cooling and -100C is absolutely insane. I mean to built cascade like FUUGER's you need the right parts, tools and people... Would be really nice to have one of these:D

no man. Absolute lowest temp is like -283C or something like that besides anything lower than -120C is no go for most of cpu's, so i heard from macci himself if i remember correctly:)

LN2 removes 3 times more HEAT than -105C...LN2 has a temp of -195.8C, but the relatonship of cold to hot is not symetrical, and in the ability to remove heat, -195.8 is 3x "colder" than -105C.

But with cascades you can consentrate on tweaking and not pooring liquid in a jar so I think thats what maters....Plus a ~-100c on GPU is a good start to 30K:D

Hey...I don't wanta pee on the woulda, coulda, shoulda bunch.......but, if OPP is doing what he's saz he's doing with stock M2 cooling.....then he should just go on freeze it.. go over the 30k mark ( that everyone is waiting for )
I think.....the real Results will happen when the 30k barrier is broken......you know, when the first 30k run happens....the "rubber" meets the road" and we know, until then, it's a game, a move, a position, a part of the plan....before the Knock out! :p

Well...
It's a tedious hobby that grows on your nerves, especially when the top "few" use *free* hardware. Paying for your kit and then torturing it is kinda counter-logical (is that a word?) If I had endless access to free stuff, I'd knock the cr*p out of it, too. But when it's your own debit card that is lightened $800USD by an FX-51, you get a little touchy when the Vcore starts hitting 1.95V, 2.00V, 2.05V...you know...

Yes, if he could get 10 more Mhz and get 3Ghz then that would be 30k ... 10K per Ghz ( with a little help from the video card of course :) )
The great thing about Opp living in California is that he benches in the evening and I get to see his results when I get into work at 6am in the UK. I'm not actually getting much work done at present to be honest ...
