Most places I buy from will take back CPUS from 10-15 days later, after that they all make you go through Intel/AMD, First thing to do would be check with the reseller you bought it from.

if you have a retail go here

I''ve rma'd 2 to intel, no problems. They are fast.
If the chips OEM, your screwed, or if it was a dell system pull like a lot of people have been selling.

It is retail, Do I just call them & they tell me to ship it to them?
This is very good to hear, I thought this was going to be a real pain to replace.

Yeah if it's retail, you jus call them up. Gotta fish for their number, took me a few minutes. Might be in that page linked by Tedinde.
They might want to know where the heatsink is, there's some numbers they want off of it. just tell them you lost the box and heatsink if you don't have them. NO big deal, I've done it.

Update - I called them yesterday & it was approved. I had to read them a bunch of #'s off of the heatspreader. They asked me a bunch of stuff so it was a little hard.
Hopefully it comes sometime next week.
