Gday Pple

First post here ,great Forums BTW

I am wondering if anyone can help me out ,I have searched the internet high and low ,for a ASUS A8R32 MVP Deluxe Modded Bios.

The reason I am after a modded bios, is this board is seriously let down by LOW Vcore Options in the bios ,max 1.520 Vcore for me there are no more options to go Higher.

I have a water cooling setup and want some more Vcore to up my CPU,if any one can help it would be greatly appreciated .

Thanks guys

Hi!

Please take a look at bios for Asrock 775dual-VSTA Click (http://download.asrock.com/bios/775/775Dual-VSTA(1.70).zip)

It has mentioned in MultiLanguage part of rom, available core voltages, but they're not shown in bios itself.
Is there any possibility to unhide vcore regulation?

Thanks in advance.
M.

I'll try every F button :) . Is there a modded bios for this motherboard?

Hey tony,

Any chace of a modded bios for MSI K8NGM2-NBP. all i need is a higher fsb selection (only allows 250, but 300 would be perfect, 270 required). also, if at all possible, more voltage options (vdimm, vcore, etc) but not necessary.

thanks.

Any chance you could look at the Tyan Thunder K8WE BIOS.? There are no overclocking options whatsoever and the latest BIOS has just given support to the 7950GX2's but only one, add a second and there are IRQ errors which they claim are a fault at their end but haven't bothered to rectify anything yet.
Thanks very much in advance, I wish I could do what you do.

0406 DFI NF4 bios files, all 3 in one zip
VE = venus
EX = Expert
last one is old skool NF4

Added option for "odd divisor correct" removed write cas latency (fixed at 1)
Added hidden options for VE and EX Vdimm to over 4V and chipset to 2V
Relaxed all timings as per BTA bios files for ease at boot, CPC2T etc, should be boot friendly with most dimms.

TRAS may report 0 on reboot, set optimised defaults and reboot back to bios and it should set 8.

I have the Venus loaded here and its clocking real nice, remember this is 3rd party so no warranty off me, DFI or OCZ, use at your own risk.

Tony

As of today is this the most current? I searched through here quite a bit, so sorry if I missed something.

The BIOS i'm using right now on my DFI UT NF4 Ultra-D is from 4/14/05. I have no problems with it, other than the fans cranking to high when coming back from Stand By. I have to restart the computer for the fans to throttle back down. Was this ever fixed?

Thanks

Did some more digging and found my answer on page 46 of the Bugs and Fixes thread.

Gonna try out this BIOS.

Edit: Works like a charm. Had to spend a couple hours fighting with the settings to get back into Windows though.

i finally found this amazing thread!

I am to guess the top dogs around here are Mr tictac, and Mr bigtoe.

i found a post regarding the Shuttle SN41G2 with the FN41 version 1 board.

And there was i bios for it that had been modified. Yay! but the link was broken! :upset:

so could someone modify the bios again?

i really want to use my Athlon XP-M 2500+ in this little shuttle so have a multiplier option is a must! I would also like Vcore options. memory voltage isn't a problem as i wont need to touch that.

The link for the bios is here

Thank you.

the DS3 cant be modded.

the S3 and S2 can though. or atleast can be accessed and changed but i thought someone said you cant actually save the new bios, only look around at it.

there really isnt much else that needs to be in the DS3 bios except more chipset voltage.
they upped the vdimm to 2.5 which is more than enough for anything but FatBodies.

do me a modded bios for a Asus A8R32 MVP deluxe ,with Higher Vcore

You can add more Vcore options on the software side ( BIOS )...but the hardware needs to be on par aswell.
You need to perform some Vmods ( such as Vcore mod ) to get higher voltages.

By the way, please don't play with BigToe's name, as this sounds like disrespect.
And Tony ( BigToe ) shouldn't be treated with disrespect as his a good guy, with lots of history in the HW Community, and he's been always helpful to every1.

As I doubt Bigtoe will find the time, I did what's possible with this latest BIOS (based on 83js6811):

http://www.fh-augsburg.de/~madocer/BIOS/(1)NE.BIN

And please don't ask what's new. I don't have the time for that. Have a thorough look at it and then you should spot the differences. There was not really much to do. BTW, select the options from the drop down menu and not with "+" and "-", as some options don't have a name, thus they aren't displayed normally. ;) You'll figure it out, I hope.

Should be no problem using it, but as always: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! No GUARANTEE FROM MY SIDE!

@ celemine1Gig: It appears that you edited the _EN_CODE.BIN rom module. Why did you not add labels/names to the settings you made selectable?

You are right. The answer is: Too much hassle. The functions work and that's what counts. When editing in some names, it would've changed adresses, the checksum would've needed to be corrected and so on. So, I just left it at that. Asus didn't give the functions names and that stayed that way with my BIOS version. If you want to change that, feel free to do so. But don't be surprised if you get a corrupted BIOS then. ;)

celemine1Gig
02-01-2007, 12:05 AM
What did you change in the _EN_CODE.BIN module....?

Yes it is a hassle to add the names, but if done correctly, it doesn't corrupt the BIOS. I do it all the time. You have to re-label everything to make room for the new labels, but you must use only the available space. See my Rebels Haven BIOS Workshop....

I know, but I still won't do it. Compare to the original, then you'll know. Got no time, sorry. Exam in a few hours.

P5B ehh, i will take a peak, in the maen time have a look at the vreg for the vdimm, it may already be maxed out and nothing but a hard mod will get you what you need.
Hey, sorry to bring out an old post, but any new info on this?

If it's of any interest, I seem to have a newer revision p5b vanilla board.

It allows vmch up to 1.70v (while I haven't verified that they all work, when I set higher than 1.25v, like 1.40 or 1.55, I do get more stability in higher fsb).

But the thing about vdimm. Traditionally, I've only seen p5b vanillas support up to 2.10v.

However, in my new revision, I have options for 2.00, 2.05, 2.10, 2.15, 2.25, 2.30, 2.35, 2.40, 2.45, if I recall correctly (didn't include those under 2.0).

That said, when I take a dmm and actually measure vdimm, I get some interesting results.

2.00: 2.08
2.05, 2.10, 2.15: 2.12
2.25, 2.30, 2.35, 2.40: 2.37
2.45: 2.55

So it does look like the vreg is definitely not maxed out, at least in my board. However, I'd really like to be able to have vdimm definitions more in the 2.2's. Currently, of the settings, it's really only setting 2.08, 2.12, 2.37, and 2.55 as the actual outcomes. If 2.20, 2.25, 2.30 actual could be realized, it'd be phenomenal.

FWIW, I've had all these vdimm settings with both the stock bios (second most recent iteration) as well as most recent bios. I didn't do vdimm measurements except with current one.

I understand if you're really busy. If you could point me in the right direction, I could try to see what I can do with my very limited knowledge. I've tried modbin6 but it seems to not want to open the file. It did say to be in dos/9x, and I tried in an nt environment so that could very well be why.

edit: trying amibcp right now

edit2: hmm gen8 only.

Also, I've found a resistor to pencil shade that'll cause leg6 of vreg and ground to decrease in resistance. However, the outcome was somehow opposite of expected. Instead of realizing a vdimm gain, 1.8v became 1.45v, and needless to say, the chips didn't post. If I could perhaps be able to drop 2.37v to 2.25v (0.12v drop) and hope that my chips post at 1.8v (which will become 1.68v) then it might be good enough for me. Worst comes to worst, maybe I'll change spd to really low clocks and weak timings to get them to post.

You can add more Vcore options on the software side ( BIOS )...but the hardware needs to be on par aswell.
You need to perform some Vmods ( such as Vcore mod ) to get higher voltages.
iirc when you pop a clawhammer in you can go as high as 1.55v (as that is its max VID value) and then add another 0.2v with the overvolt option resulting in 1.75vcore. So the hardware itself is up to par I guess.

Right now i can't go higher than 1.52v :( and I think this chip could use some more juice to reach its max potential. 3500mhz 1.6v for 24/7 use would be nice :yepp:

Tony... when you have the time, could you pleeeeeeeeeeeeease look into this? I would really really really appriciate that :) I'll be running WCG 24/7 if that motivates you any!! :p:

IMHO, it was time to close this thread long ago. But that's just my 2 cent. If he modded a single bios on request in the last year, then I stand corrected, but I highly doubt it.
