Hello,

I would like to have your opinion regarding my problem.
My computer:

Asus P5B Deluxe Wifi AP (bios 1238 which is the last one)
E7400 @ 4000MHz (9*445MHz) @ 1.288v
Scythe Zipang 140mm @1000rpm
2*2048Mb Corsair XMS2 6400C4
2*2048Mb Geil Ultra 6400C4
Gainward 9500GT Fanless
Corsair CX400

My problem is:
Temperature of the CPU is higher than temperature for the die (in the bios and in every softs : Everest, HWmonitor, Coretemp..)
Therefore when the dies are around 40°C temperature for cpu is around 60°C!

Moreover, temperatures for the dies can't go lower than 39°C (even with 10°C ambiant temperature)

So, according to you what should be trusted?
- Die temperature?
- CPU temperature?

Any help would be very appreciated.
Thank you in advance

I own a P5B Deluxe wifi and I can tell you that neither value should be trusted because neither reading is accurate. I took a CPU up to a core temperature of 100C and the CPU sensor was reporting higher than the core sensor which is impossible. At full load running Prime, it should have been reporting about 25C less than the hottest spot on the core, not 10C more so at higher temperatures there might be 30C or more degrees of error in readings from this sensor.

The core temperature sensors on 45nm CPUs get stuck at lower temperatures. It sounds like the sticking point for you is 39C. They almost always will work OK above this temperature but can't go below it no matter how cold your room temperature is. Above this sticking point they still aren't very accurate. An error of +/- 10C or more is not uncommon at all. There's not much you can do about it. Intel made some great Core 2 CPUs but didn't provide a way to accurately measure the core temperature.

Thank you very much (once again :) ) for your precious help

I feel better now when I see that I'm not alone :D
