Recently my AMD mobo died and now seeking for upgrade, but at the moment if i should switch to Intel for i7 because Im doing Animation at Uni and i dont know if my AMD spec would last, you know animation programs expect a lot from your computer and and with a AM2 6000 i dont know if it will last. Money is not really a problem at the moment, just need to know which way would be more better?

I would await when P55 pops up, so we can see what effect it has on the prices of I7 and the current AMD lineup. I would buy a cheapo AMD mobo just to get ya current rig going.

But lets say the stuff now...which way would keep me running better for another 2-3 years?

ofcourse if you step up to an AM2/3 or I7 it will be better in the long run. But think also if you can hold on to ya current rig till eg end this year you will get far better performing hardware for the same cash or the same for less cash... it's hard to resist to the upgrade disease...

a simple AMD mobo will set ya back for what 50-60 quid ? you can still sell the MOBO/CPU/ram combo later on... if you upgrade to I7 it will be a complete overhaul for ya rig : MOBO,CPU, RAM, PSU...

Core i7 without a doubt. It's all there is, but like Leeghoofd says, P55 is coming out soon and it will have an effect on prices.
