yeah but if I had better ram I could up the "FSB" and keep the timings I had. As it is now I have the ram maxed. I can maybe tighten the TRC and TRAS but thats it. No more mhz are coming out of it. Anything above 1.95v does nothing for me!

Drop divider and watch it not effect score ;)
NB makes little impact.....64 bit makes a diff in score in one bench not recognized in comp ( etc no point in using it then )........Try this on ln2 in 64 bit. When ln2 nets you a whopping 4.2 gig you will see the light.

My best in 32bit so far was shy of 4GHz as seen on both screen shots :) So chew* score is unbeatable for now! I might try 32bit tomorrow just to see if I can push 4.08GHz ...
I've also heard that Win7 scheduler is much better at distributing tasks across cores, so one would hope it will do even better than good old XP x64!
I'm trying to install Win7 for 2 months now (laziness) ! I will get it done eventually (this year for sure :p:).

This is for you FlanK3r and m411b.... :D
It's unusually cool here tonight for summer, and that may have something to do with this result, but I finally got a good CB10 run over 4Ghz on a 64 bit OS (Win7)...
See this thread: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=230160
The score is only marginally better than the one I got with my 940, but the cool aspects are that this was done with an unlocked X2 550, I broke the 4Ghz barrier for 64bit/CB10, and I did it at a lower V's on the Core and the IMC...
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c330/Daveburt/Computer/0723_4Ghz_CB10.png
chew*: FWIW man, I tried dropping my mem clocks down to 1066 (DDR2 speeds) and it really didn't seem to help... Don't get me wrong, your input is ALWAYS welcomed, but it seems like lowering the mem clocks may help more at sub zero than it does at ~ambient temps...

These are my scores since I got my Phenom II in January. Most are on the 0905 BIOS on this M3A79-T Deluxe motherboard, but two are with the new 1102 BIOS and Catalyst 9.7 drivers. My CPU is clocked at 3.2Ghz Core/2.4Ghz Northbridge for all tests. Also, I have a brief description of the Hyper Transport options I had enabled or disabled. From those tests I can conclude that with this motherboard, the 905 BIOS, Catalyst 9.7 drivers, and ram with a high clock and low timings will have the highest performance for this particular setup. My OpenGL scores blow all of you away with this stock clocked HD4970 :yepp:.

One thing is for certain, Cat 9.7 has revived ATI OpenGL! I'm hoping we get a little rain in my area today in Houston so I can turn the A/C on, get the house really cold, and overclock to 3.7 or 3.8Ghz today. Hehe, of course.
Mind you, i was benching in a 25ºC ambient and tbh, wasn't trying really hard.

Winner of what, exactly? :D
Possibly the "Cinebench does not scale with >8 threads.. AT ALL" price? :D
High clocked Intel Dual LGA771's destroy everything in CB10. It's the best arch CB10 was optimized for, small wonder considering the age of that renderer.
Seriously, we need something new on the Cinebench front.

But this thread is only for AMD AIR/watter :). Here cant Intel winner :) ( disqualification:D)
I mean, Cinebench scale with more than 8 threads, maybe not so lienar. I seen i9 Gulftown (6cores, 12 threads) and was better than i7 Nehalem
jcool
08-26-2009, 02:45 AM
Yeah it does scale a little, but still.. with the Quad Opteron and the Dual Gainstown (both have 16 threads) I always watch the last 4-5 seconds as a single thread completes the picture, while the others are doing nothing.
Plus, there is too much time lost with the initial scaling build-up (it takes a few seconds until all threads are rendering).

Zeus, IMO that’s a great score for a 955 , I tested Cinebench 10 with my 955 a couple of weeks back with Windows 7 64-bit and it just didn’t like 4GHz or above at all but the 965 doesn’t mind that clock in 64-bit at all. I swapped the gigabyte out and installed the MSI GD70 to rerun Cinebench in 64-bit just in case I left something on the table :D. Anyway to answer your question the temp varies but it idles on average 18C+/- @1.54-1.55V and load temp I have no idea because I shut down everything I don’t need while testing.
BTW did you catch the earlier 32-bit Cinebench test of the 965 in which it broke 14K under the cool water? :)
Thanks man. ;)
Do you reckon the MSI will unleash some untapped power?
If you idle around 18ºC you must be using a very nice chiller!
You'd rather call it cold water instead of cool. :) Any pics of that set up?
I saw that 14K run, unbelievable you could run it at 4280MHz! Did you have to back down all the way to 4.1GHz due to the 64 bit OS?

I don’t know about unleash but the MSI /965 combination, at first testing yielded a little higher clock than I have been able to get from the Gigabyte, so far.
MSI GD70/965be validation link
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=661227
Yeah, it will idle at 18C+/- but at the hint of any processor activity the temp jumps into the mid 20’sC and I have no clue how high it gets under full load.
I use a small camping cooler with one swiftech radiator and one heater core from a Chevy van ($27) installed in the water cooling loop, these radiators are placed in the bottom of the cooler. I add just enough water to cover the radiators then fill the cooler to the top with ice. I use a swiftech pump and GTZ water block plus I insulate the water lines. Usually 22#’s of ice lasts six hours or more depending on the processor used, over clock and which tests are being utilized.
I’d love to have an OCZ Cryo-z but being that they don’t ship it and I don’t plan to drive several thousand miles to California to buy it, this looks like the best I’m going to do is Ice in a cooler for better cooling.

Zeus:i think not, maybe with a luck i got 17 000 points and this will all for my chip :-/, u have great vcore for 4100 mHz, i need the same for 3900MHz in x64 cinebenh, or, how much helped u lower ambient temps?
I went from 4055MHz at 25-26ºC ambient to 4080MHz at 24ºC ambient and 4130MHz at 15.5ºC.
As you can see low ambient really helps. My temps never exceeded 35ºC during the cinebench runs at 4.1GHz+, idle was ~24/25ºC.

omg...it seems, your chip is 100 MHz better for hard testing. How is your max validation? Can u broken 4300 (maybe 4400 MHz)? And my tip: run CInebench, dont close program and run second it-second run is better score!
Thanks for the tip but i did that on a number of occasions but results were still inconsistent no matter what. It's just a matter of rerunning it till you finally pull off the score you're expecting. In my case 17K7 at least. :)
My chip isn't special really, i'd say somewhere in between average and good. chew* has a good one that will completely annihilate mine, i'm sure of that.

Well maybe a 400w Qmax TEC could, but the power requirements are getting kinda crazy as far as I'm concerned. It would be fun to play with, but not a good option for 24/7 clocks...

I wonder, if 1055T and 1090T could break 20K on a decent 890 board with 8-8-8-20 2000MHz rated RAM...
Only one way to find out.
You won't need a 890 board nor DDR2000. Just give me a Thuban and i'll show you 20K. ;)

Seems like multiple runs boost the scores considerably. Essentially pre-loading the caches I guess?
Cinebench R10 has to be the most predictable benchmark out there. Take the total clock of any Phenom X4 and multiply it by 1.03-1.08 for your score. CPU-NB overclocks and repeated runs account for the small variation.

What memory chips and voltages?
For some reason my Rpijaws don't want to go much over 1800 CL7 and they not stable 1600CL6 even at 1.675V ... Might be to do with memory slots I'm using, because I can't install them into first channels due to Ultra 120 cooler.

Memory is a tripple channel kit from mushkin, DDR3-1866 8-9-8-24 with elpida bbse ICs.
voltage is ~1.75v (they need more vdimm on amd as on intel).
my 4GB mushkin DDR3-1600 6-8-6-24 kit won´t clock that nice :(
btw, the 1866 can also do a little bit more
