i recently upgraded my computer to asus m4a78 pro mb with amd athlon x2 7750+ be cpu, kingston hyperx 1066 1g x2, and ocz modxstream 500w psu. i overclocked fsb to 265 and i lowered cpu multiplier to 12x, HT multiplier to 6x. the rams are running at 530 right now. since the speed it's only 3180mhz, i tried to raise the fsb even higher to 270 but it couldnt boot.
how can i get it even higher? the maxium voltage for cpu is like 1.4250v, i cannot go exceed this amount. and seems like the maxium cpu multiplier i can switch to is only 13.5x but i saw some other people could raise it to 17.5x or higer i dont really get it is it depending on the motherboard or i have to unlock it??

Maybe look into whether your BIOS allows access to the NB multiplier. It's just my guess, as the lack of such is what is preventing me from further overclocking on the M4A78 Plus.

hmmm, I would not even consider "FSB" ( HT Ref ) OCing on that chip. It is a BE which has unloacked multi's. There is no gain in perfomance for HT Ref OCing (FSB). Those chips fared well with ACC enabled ( try auto first). I ran mine pretty high, considering it was an old Phenom I core, These don't clock anything like the Phenom II cores.

Have you enabled advanced features in the bios ? YOu should be able to increase your multiplier since its a BE Model , could be a bios thing so try to update to new bios version .AT 270 HT ref clock you are likely maxing out the NorthBridge , if you can lower NB multy and lower the ram strap to rule out everything and just clock your chip to find max stable Ghz , after that done clock everything else .In any case updating your BIOS will be a good idea , my board didnt have NB multy adjustments until a bios update .

Some Phenom I chips simply have an HT Ref wall. I have a triple core (X3 8450) that won't post above 277Mmz and won't stay stable under prime above 275Mhz, yet it does it at a voltage of only 1.2875v for a 2.88Ghz final speed.
