Is it me, or do these drivers really kill performance...?

I just received 2x512 HyperX 3500 (BH5) to replace the other HyperX I had that was CH5....my system nows does far higher fsb and overall cpu overclockage....but my score is now much much lower than previous. I am thinking it is either due the the new release of the nForce2 drivers or the 52.16 vid driver.

What you guys think...?

I was getting over 15k with my Ti4200 with only 215fsb with older chipset and vid drivers. Now I am running 235fsb, but my score is suffering to the tune of a good -2200 makrs..? :confused:

Try 40.72, 42.01 and 42.51 in turn for a GF4 series ... your dragothic and nature scores will return to their previous levels and may even increase if you were using a lesser driver before.

52.16 is not for 3DM01, obviously Nvidia doesn't care about that benchmark.

You need to look at things on a broader spectrum, you can't seriouly believe that 3DM01 is the ONLY benchmark? Try them in AM3 or some games, you'll see they are the best drivers they have made.

I will test them right now in AM3 SoulB to test your idea. I will also test them in games. I have been using the 52.16 for a bit now and know how they perform in games.

I have already done a AM3 run with the 52s, now will do one with the 41.09s that I just installed. Incidently, going back to the 40 series gave me back the 2k marks I lost by going to the 52s.

**EDIT**
Actually, after going back to the 41.09 drivers, I got an extra 3k marks in AM3.

There is an easy set of rules for most setups

GF3 -> 40.72
GF4 -> 42 series ( 42.01 or 42.51 )
GF FX -> 44.03 3dmark01 , 45.23 for 3dmark03 330, maybe 53.03 for 340.

There are some fluctuations on setups ( hence Kunaaks 43.51 good for his FX in 2001 ) but I would be surprised for 41.09 to be faster than 4201 or 42.51.

AM follows these rules as far as I am aware, though the 50 series probably is better for FX.

+3000 in AM3? That would be nice but I run an FX card so I can't test that.
