Ok, attached is a screen of my "My Computer" window, named [ BaSe ].
I have a partition, but it isnt showing up in the base.. any ideas?

Hey, is it XP??...if so you probably have to go to my computer right click go to manage...disk management and format the partition. it should show up after that.

on that patrtition, does it say active or primary or.... does that partition have info on it that u want to save? or do u want to format it, if u right click on it do u have the option of "new partition" if so the drive is hosed and u might as well go ahead and re format that partition. right click on it and see if u see the option of initialize. if u right click on it do u see the option of make partition active.

thats what I got.. dunno if that will help or not
also, how would I install XP to that partition, and only that partition (both problems = solved, would be great!

I don't think you can, XP and 2k require the OS to be installed before a certain point of the drive (2gb or 8gb, I forget). What you would need to do is switch the two around so the small one is in the front.
Try booting from the XP install disc and when it goes into fdisk, see if that partition shows up.

You cannot install XP to a logical drive regardless of it's size........
