Heres the first run of my system. I have been having some horrible framerate issues lately, and I cant even get 100 frames in counter-strike (which is pathetic). Can anyone tell me by these scores where I might start troubleshooting? I also have had some freezing issues in games which may or may not be related.
Anything I can do to get it on par with where it should be would be excellent.
Athlon 2800+ (its at 2600+ on the test)
Hercules 9700 Pro
512mb PC3500 Corsair DDR
40GB Western Digital HDD 8mb Cache
Abit KD7-RAID mainboard
Antec 350W Power Supply
Windows XP Pro
Thanks guys

i just read the review of your motherboard, it seems like it should run 200fsb easily and your ram should too. I'd try 200x10 on the cpu with around 1.75v and see how that works. I know you said the CPU seemed unstable at the default 2800+ setting, it may just require a tad more voltage.(Maybe dipping below 1.65v)

To clarify on the CS problem, ill be at 100 frames when not moving away from the action, if I move i drop to about 90, then when im shooting at something ill be at 30-50 frames.

My computer wouldnt boot at ALL on the 2800+ setting. I tried your settings and the same thing happened, it just sat at a black screen.

tried vcore to 1.8? any mem timings need to be relaxed? with the intel boards and the gat/pat it can be confusing. maybe soem oen with that board can sugges what timings u should use

Your getting into an area I know nothing about. I shouldnt have to change voltages and timing or whatever to fix it, since its always worked with default settings. I have WAY too many reliablility issues with this computer to go and change too many things around. This is by FAR the the worst system ive had. Its fast when it works, but it only works right 25% of the time =(

Get CPU-Z (www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php) and verify your processor speed.
Also make sure you installed your chipset drivers so your AGP is working.

dont worry so much, u will be fine. just liek i tell the girls " th first time is always a lil rough, after that u will enjoy it more"
same goes for u. all u need to do is learn the basics and after that all machines will seem the same more or less. im still hoping soem one has this board and can provide u with soem exact bios figures so u can get it straightend out cuase i dont think ur going to be able to guess ur way into it. i suggest in ur bios, u should have soemthing for either load defualty settings, or load optimal settings, try that. there is no reason why utr 2800 should not work at 2800. period

What im using right now are the default optimal settings, minus the 2800+ setting.

just incase who knows what u have is a lemon.. try vcore at 1.775 and put ur ram at 2.5 -3-3-7 and like 2.8v...
and see what that gets u.. turn any spread spectrum junk off, anything that has "turbo" turn that off.. and give that a try
