Finally bought mobo and cpu

I went ahead and bought a friend's mobo/cpu combo for a decent price.

Asus P4C800 Deluxe Rev.1.0
P4 2.6Ghz chip with hsf

Not exactly sure what stepping the chip has but i remember him mentioning he got something like 3.4Ghz with Kingston Hyper X PC4000 DDR500 2*512 Dual Kit.

He's had this setup for less than 2 months and has run into hard times.

I'll be happy with 3ghz on air until i get my prommie :D

Any of you think the 3Ghz is possible with this board/cpu and my parts?

Well you should be guaranteed 3250Mhz because running at only 3Ghz would be underclocking your RAM.

Another person to add to the Intel bandwagon.....It wasn't all that long ago people thought I was crazy using Intella's products. I used to be in this section of the forum talking to myself, or fending off Jbells anti Intel propaganda, telling me how I should come to the AMD darkside, but he who laughs last laughs best.

:toast: sinkster. I'm just a little fedup with not getting the performance gain i was looking for with a vmodded NF7 and barton with my chiller. I wanna give intel a shot since alot of ppl are getting great results with them :D

I totaly agree, I like Coke, but I'll try pepsi. I like Intel, but I won't try a AMD :slobber: (But I won't try AMD for the sole fact that my antics are making Jbell crazy.
