I just bought a MSI X58M, had it for a couple days. It died and the 8pin EPS got ever so slightly chipped. Well I talked to the techs about it and they said they can probably replace it...

Well, they received it last thursday and it says on their page they will process it within 48hrs. Well its well past tuesday and they never contacted me so I did an online chat with them.

Anyways, they said it can't be replaced due to physical damge, WTF??? Barely chipped 8pin I had the board for 1 freakin day and they already sent it back without telling me anything. So what do you do if something was damaged in shipping!! How can they believe you didn't do it, does every RMA they get in look brand new? What a F'in joke. Newegg would have replaced it no questions asked!

So avoid this crappy place with poor customer service

so the 8pin got chipped BEFORE you got the board or did that happen in your hands? i'm pretty sure they thought it was dead because you chipped it yourself

I have always had great service with mwave and good rma experience... spent thousands of dollars there back in the AMD K8 days

They completely sucked, tried to call them once and the girl was very rude. I'm nice too I don't get it lol. Anyways, guess I will stick with newegg...

Never had issues with them myself. 1 bad experience shouldn't spoil thousands of flawless transactions that others have done.

hmmm, what do you mean "barely chipped" btw? If it was an obvious damage on that part then they have every right to deny you an RMA because if they send that back to the manufacturer and the manufacturer says hey this is damaged then Mwave takes the ~$200 loss on the board.

Cool well if you guys had good experience keep going there then! Just saying how I felt. I told the tech what happened and he said it would be replaced, well I sent it in and I guess they changed their mind. It wasn't even noticeable too

by all means we're on your side, but you got to give us a picture to show its not your fault

Take a look at this thread (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=207476) :)
The dude tried to RMA his GPU in that condition
look at post #89

If the board was damage in your hands and you were honest enough to tell them that kudos to you but it is obvious they would not replace an inoperable board due to user damage.

Did the board die on result of the 8 pin damage?

I tried to take a pic but couldnt tell. They probably wouldnt have even noticed if I hadn't said anything.

No it didn't die from that, was working fine then one morning tried to turn it on and a cap started smoking...

sure sounds to me like it could happen from.. oh... say... a power rail being shorted to the wrong net. :) I'd like to see the pics of the 8 pin, too.
