I want to move my comp to the other side of room because it's too loud for immediately next to my work area and monitor. So I would need wireless keyboard and mouse. Is bluetooth the way to go or something else? I've always had wired keyboard/mouse for home so I have no frame of reference. I look my Saitek Eclipse II for it's simplicity and action. I hate to lose that but I gotta move this machine. Maybe simple RF wireless is the way to go?
Computer will be about 8 to 10 feet away.

The one you posted or the Razer Mamba, which is now the reference. The Logitech G7 is also a pretty good one.
As for keyboard, no idea on this one..

On a less Xtreme note, how are mode office oriented sets [Microsoft Laser Office 5000 for example] doing in gaming? I'm not talking competitive gaming [single player actually] but will it be anything more that annoyance and lag?

Input lag is a ton higher on wireless than on wired. I went from a plain logitech to a G7 to a Ikari.
This was a 3 year period with the G7, wired all the way for no compromises :-]
If you need wireless and only play singleplayer, go for a microsoft wireless combo for ease of use, one hub, one piece of software, wireless interference avoidence etc..

Gotta agree, wired if you're playing competitively against others. Wireless only if you're playing by yourself....lag is just too bad with wireless mice to be useful in online competitive shooter games.

And I'll disagree.
I'm using a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 7000 keyboard - and a Razer Mamba. There is absolutely no perceptible lag or stutter or interference with the Mamba - which I sometimes encountered with the G7. Even direct comparisons with the Mamba in wired mode shows no difference whatsoever, and I've gotten multiple friends to try it with the same conclusion.
The MS keyboard is a somewhat different story. I've occasionally ecountered times when the signal drops and keypresses do nothing. I won't lie, this has gotten me fragged. However, these momentary dropouts aside, I can't notice any lag when compared to a wired keyboard - probably because inputting keypresses probably isn't as open to perception as moving a mouse is.Given the specs on the keyboard, I'm fully prepared to accept that there would be a difference - but I'd contest that you'd notice this in normal gameplay. Given that I do a lot of word-processing, the comfort and convenience of the wireless keyboard is to me more than worth the occasional inconvenience caused by a dropped signal - and I say that even though I LAN at least once a month and do a hell of a lot of online gaming.

This was my stance before using a G7 for three years and moving to an Ikari. It just feels so slippery and silky smooth. My mouse finally listens.
I have yet to try the Mamba, and look forward to it sometime.

I have yet to try the Mamba, and look forward to it sometime. The G7 is infinitely inferior to the Mamba. As you say, my stance before getting the Mamba was that the G7 was equal to a wired mouse (except when I got frustrated with the dropouts), but the Mamba totally blew me away. The neat thing about it is the wired mode, which allows me to make a direct comparison - given cord drag, the Mamba is actually more responsive in wireless mode.

I can't speak for the Mamba, but I have a few friends who use the G7, and some prefer it to the G5.
I still swear by my G5 though; it's a wonderful mouse. I can imagine if the G7 is anything like it, I'd be fine with it.
