I read this is Dec PCFORMAT and need to share my amusement... read on.....
Dear PCF, After reading the article in your mag entitled Pissed PC I decided to experiment with a few solutions in my laboratory. I have created a watercooling solution which is so effective it has reduced the temperature of my XP3200 ( which I have overclocked to 5Thz) to a cool -57C. The only drawback is that the solution i used becomes extremely hot and requires cooling by another watercooler, which i keep in my scientific freezer. Since I know have such a powerful processor could you suggest any games, films or operations that actually require more than 1.5Ghz or are you going to turn around and tell me I have wasted my last week?
and PCF replied.....
5Thz? are you absolutely sure? are you some sort of mad scientist? few things run at that speed except some sort of supercomputer weather simulator. As you probably know you don't watercool PC's because apps actually require that kind of performance to run, you do it to get the best possible performance. Most new games run happily on a hlaf decent, off-the-shelf box from PC worl, its a question of expectations and what you want from your kit.
I am very interested in where I can get my watercooling kit to get to -57C given water freezes at 0C, and also would like to know a boot time for this system??? anyone any ideas? hehe
