So i'm working on a build in which i'm using a Thermaltake Lanbox and i need some help with the PSU:)

I'm going to be running two 4890s in crossfire and i was wondering if i should go with a 750hx or will a 620hx be enough? i was also looking at a 700w silverstone psu here
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817256045
but i'm not sure if its good quality.

My other question is about the motherboard.
Originally i was going to go with the AM3 based Lanparty Jr board
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813136068

but now i'm thinking about the AM2 based board that has almost the exact same specs
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813136056

I'm going to be using an AM3 CPU and i'm not sure if i'm going to see much, if any, difference between AM2+ or AM3. I realize i'll be losing the DDR3, but from what i understand there isn't that much of a performance increase.

Thank you for any help you can provide :D:up:

**EDIT**
now that i look closer at the 620hx i'm noticing that it does not have the required 4x6pin pci-e connections that is required for having 2 4890s. so i guess thats out. I'm also open to other PSU suggestions i just want the best PSU for the best price (Duh lol ;) )

I'm in the same predicament as you. I thought that the Corsair 620hx was an easy pick, until I realized that it only has 2PCI-E connectors.

Now I'm looking at the ST70F for $100 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817256045) as well. It seems like a pretty safe buy. I would wait for another comment though :)

As for the AM2+ vs AM3 debate, It seems like you are limiting your upgrade path in the future by not choosing DDR3 and AM3. But thats in my humble opinion again.

there is no reason to go AM2+ with this ram on the market: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227447 83.99 for the best AMD ram out there right now

Well i went out and got the St70F anyways, silverstone is a good brand and i've heard good things, also its a ton cheaper than the $200 750HX

newegg says return for replacement within 30 days, technically the AM3 board is a replacement so I would call newegg on the phone and ask them to do the exchange before you even open the am2+ box.
