Well, like a fool I decided to purchase two Accelero Extremes for my 4870x2s.
Of course, they don't fit together, which I was too naive to realize before purchasing them.
So, I have the option of running one card with the accelero extreme and the other with its stock heat sink.
However, I will need to use the white PCI-E 16x slot at the bottom of the board. Will this support Crossfire?
Also, it seems I will need a longer bridge connector to reach that card. Does ATI manufacture them?
Thanks in advance.

The bottom slot should work. On the longer bridge, ATI does not make them as far as I know but you can get some. Just Google around a bit.

you can see the option in the BIOS, i don't know about the new RIIE revision, but mine says 16x 16x 1x or 16x 8x 8x
newegg isn't always right.

Is there a new revision of the R2E yet?

It might have three x16 slots but when you add the third card, the last two slots become x8.
