I would like to thank Runmc over at Xtreme Systems for building me an impeccable phase change unit. Thank you bro! The only problem here is the 975 batch that I have. So far 3 of us over at OCForums have had some pretty bad results.

Ignore the cheap insulation and mounting shots, these pics are from before the final mount, i was just measuring and cutting insulation at that point.

Oh yeah, system specs:
Core i7 975, batch in photo
EVGA Classified 759
Corsair Dominator GT CAS7
QuadFire 4870X2's

Nice what specs for phase change unit ? how cold ?

3851A batch unfortunately might not be best for sub zero.. okay for air.. i have 2x i7 920 3851A368 D0 4ghz needs 1.312-1.360v prime for H20 heh.

EVA,
You are absolutely right bro. This is not going as planned.
4.90 GHz seems to be bench/3d stable. 5.0 GHz is max Spi1m so far. I am very very dissapointed so far. I will keep working though.

It seems to be very happy benching at 4.80 GHz and lower vcore 1.49.
So I am going to go with it and start benching:

3dmark06 had to lower core even further:

All in all, the cooling capacity was enough for 4.75 to 4.90 3d benching but it wasnt cool enough for 5.1 GHz+ clocking, not even a screen shot. So I am kinda dissapointed.

That would be a complete let down. On the brighter side we know what batch to stay away from :(

Tell me about it man. I was very upset after the money spent. My 920-D0 primed at 4.59 GHz on AIR. Deanzo over at OCForums had similar results using Dry Ice with this exact batch as well.

word.

People called me a nut bar back when the i7's were released and I told people to get the "B" batches, and now even in the D0's they're the better ones.

This is why guys like AndreYang are selling 10+ Xeons in the FS section. Takes $7000 to find a proper one lol.

man! if you want to kill your hardware asap no Insulation is needed!!!

please put some Kneaded rubber arround the Socket and on the Back of the Board!

Your Pics scares me!

Hey brother. I understand you are trying to help me by thinking I am newbie. But I have owned Kayls container for 2 years now for DI, and have been phase cooling for 4+ years so I have plenty of experience with insulation and extreme cooling. If you read the ENTIRE first post carefully you will see that I clearly stated:

Not only do I have insulation both on and around the backplate, but the proper insulation on and around the socket, clamshell + dialectric grease in and around the socket and immediate capacitors for even extra condensation measures. But I definitely appreciate and understand your concern.

X2, 4 Ghz is like stealing candy from a baby on any D0 with low low volts on air.

Why not throw a 955 BE under there and have some fun with the cold?
