im looking at trying for massive FSB on my upcomming mobo. and im not sure how much my ch-5 will want to do at tight times. so im looking at selling it to a friend and getting some BH-5 or some pc4000.

if i want to try for 250 fsb or there-abouts, will i get better performance with hyperx3000 from best buy, or hyperx4000 again from bestbuy(i have a ton of best buy gift cards i need to use:rolleyes:)

the 3000 is BH-5, the 4000 = ????

so the 4000 is rated for 250fsb, so i knwo my ram wont be the limiting factor, but, will the horrible timings kill my speed?

assuming i can ram 3.3v into my ram, will bh-5 be a better choice? or will the higher speed stuff allow for faster times at the high fsb?

and if i dont want to get KHX3000 from BB, how do i go about getting $$ for like 4 differant gift cards to i can get some mushkin with bh-5?

if best buy has some hyperx 3000 with bh5, definatly go with that since you do have the giftcards. On one of my other linux boxes i have bh5 hyperx 3000 that runs 240 2-2-2-11 with 3.4 volts and other users have there's running that with lower volts.

Oh yeah. Dont get anything over pc 3700 because you need tight timings on these AMD systems if you want to use their real capabilities and pc 4000 and above will get the high fsb, but most likely will have crappy timings

lol i agree rudzer, i just got myself a 9800p and a PCP&C power supply, so $$ is kinda a problem. i guess i can get the bestbuy ram and check got bh-5, if not then ill get a refund and probably cash in return, then i can either try again or get the mushkin for 140

The OCZ Platinum Limited Edition comes in a bit cheaper than the Mushkin over here, could be worth a look.
