I am looking to spend some money to upgrade my computer from my dated AMD X2 6400+.
I am looking at picking up a Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 to use with my 9800GTX.
My question is whats the best P45 board to use for around $150 and is it worth it to spend the money on DDR3-1600 ram?

Since you are going DDR3, might as well go "all out" and jump on the i7 bandwagon. It's the "thing" to do now. Get the i7 920 D0 and a sub-$200 mobo and a DDR3 kit of your choice. Then you are truly ready for some serious computing!

I can afford to go with the Core i7 if I dont get the two 1TB hard drives. I need them so I can do a mirrored backup of all the pictures and videos of my baby boy

I would wait it out and save a few bucks more for the i7. You would be set for a long time.

I could always buy the drives later, I have 3 250GB drives right now
