Well bought this card as it's broken, i knew it when i bought so i wasn't scammed :P

But, after little looking around, conclusion:
Vmodded before, Vmems vmods literally teared off...

Vmem area is now:

Should be:

So there's missing one cap, one resistor and some PCB, not bad :rolleyes:

Well i can measure what that missing cap is but not the resistor, could somebody do that so i might get this thing working again :)

Looks like you have your work cut out for you, but it looks like it shouldn't be too too hard to work with.

I'll be keeping an eye out to see how this turns out. Worst comes to worst, you bought a cheap card and had fun modding it!

Up^

Well could somebody measure this resistor?

Tho i might get some dead 88gt where i could measure it :)
Nosfer@tu did measure the resistance (24.9Ohm) while it were on pcb but it won't really help :|

I really hope this works. I have a EVGA 8800GT that i tried Voltmodding and screwed up doing it.:mad: Pulled some resistors of with the Soldering gun.:down:If you can fix it, maybe ill give mine a go and try the same thing.

Oh well seems like this will be done most easily by myself.

Add missing cap'n fix pcb = easy.
Add missing resistor: Fix pcb, add VR where resistor should be tune VR to 24.9ohm, remove VR and measure again :)

*probes the resistor before desoldering*
-> 22.2Ω

*switches on the Weller*

*desolders the resistor and measures it*
-> 22.2Ω

Resistor soldered to it's place, now need to take 47nF capasitor from some dead mobo, that will take some time to find one :rofl:

you removed the resistor just for him to measure it ? :eek:

:clap:

Well, I don't think that it's the first time that largon used his soldering iron. :D ;)

Or to put it differently: With the right tools and some experience, it really is no big deal.

Really nice move by him, though.

If you're experienced in soldering you can do that in 1min :)

Ok, second capasitor soldered, 0402 sized smd components aren't easy to solder w/o microscope :D
Tests hopefully tommorrow.

Ok, tested. No picture, well lets measure vGPU and vMEM, vGPU = 1.1V and vMEM 2.0V these sound right?

Hmm lets try freezer for couple hours if not working, i'll try new bios for the card since earlier owner reflashed while it were like that.

Hope you get it working because I messed up my 8800GT yesterday and hope I can fix it somehow ;)

The red dot where you are supposed to solder a VR, well... Let's say I lost mine
Is it just some tin or what is it ? Is there anyway to replace it ?

Want to get it running again so I can break 800mhz core :D
