Hello this is my first post in xtreme forums I have the crappy abit IC7 max3... So i can overclock my 2.4c@300fsb 3.6.. My question is because of the vdimm issue this boards is not stable over 2.8vdimm forcing me to use the 3:2 ratio. Now If I got a different board like asus and did the mod how many points will I gain in 3dmark01 using a 5:4 ratio by the way my ram is running at 2-2-2-5.. so how many more points will 5:4 give me can someone test that out?

Welcome to Xtreme! Fell yourself at home:)

Well, i haven't tried it the way you proposed, but 295 5:4 is about equal 320 3:2 in performance, at least on my system.

Can anyone else do testing?? I would like to hear some of your opinions on this.. Because If 5:4 gives me alot more performance I will get a new mobo

Thanks looks like I will make the switch.. Not to many people have the EPoX 4PCA3+ REV 2 board... The board seems to have really nice voltages and some people do get over 300fsb.. I just want to run my 300fsb 5:4 ratio how fast would that make the memory??

Update I just ordered the epox 4pca3+ REV2 board.. If I can do 295fsb or higher 5:4 I will be so happy.. :)

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7155987 Was before the vmod

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7182801 After the vmod

The only thing that was changed is the divider from 3/2 to 5/4.

5:4 is more, I still dont get the problems with the IC7 max3's, they are supposed to be top of the line.

Better cooling better everything.

How long ago did you buy your IC7 max3?? Abit has secret new rev's that fix the vdimm issues. I got the board the first day it came out so thats why I got screwed.
