View Full Version : DFI's DK X58 can play with W3540 Xeon's too (Corsair Dom's + TEC cooler)

DFi DK X58
Xeon W3540
Corsair Dominator GT Cas 7 2000MHz + TEC cooler (ambient temp) monitoring
PCP 1200w PSU
Cascade cooling -107 fully loaded
With Vdroop - Full Load VCore 1.30~1.32V
Not a bad little board this, but a little limited in current to really push these chips. Not a bad result overall and it can certainly clock memory.

very nice, liking your new chip as well ?

yeah, these Xeon's are really something else.

nice speeds on the ram, 1.9v? :D

i'm still waiting on those tec cooler from corsair, dunno when they'll release it :|

nice, long live elpidas :)

if you use this same proc on the classified will the multi be 24x?

23X is Turbo mode - so it will be 23X on all cores like it is here. 24X is that single core multi like we get 22x on the 920.

Very nice. Glad to see this Xeon overclocking past 5.0 speeds so easy ,my 965 struglle and crap out at 4910 on LN2 , got one of this Xeons coming my way this week to play with :D hopefully it will overclcok better than my 965. Seems like they like low volts right ? keep pushing it and thanks for sharing your nice results.

Great work Raja , its good to see the DFIs got into the deal with hypers

keep pushing it

DFI board is a memory heavyweight! Great results, was 223bclk your max? A few people have gotten this board into the 230+ range (eva2000, solarfall, hazzan).

The DK is limited to 180amps. So I'm limited in CPU freq. Over 230 BCLK is not a problem so long as I don't draw any more current than 1.32V under full load over 5GHz.

your Clocks are F**KING nice for this low Voltages...

only a lucky pic or a selected CPU?

Purchased at random from the states, so no hand picking.

did the tec unit bring the voltages down
or was the rams always that good??

nice clocks btw for the wprime
always thought the classified was a bit low.

Good to see more and more of this D0 Xeons on the top, Congratz Raju

Not really: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=3786955&postcount=159

That was pretty easy on the Classi, my only limit is cooling. Could not get the current out of the DFI..

the 2200mhz CL7 .. i meant

that scaling is amazing
all the elpidas hypers i tested is quite linear from voltage to dram speed and if u can do that at 2200mhz Cl7 stable or even close to it
theorize ure 2k C7 is under 1.6

Why o why do I have to see this?? Anyway I have the CL7 doms and a W3540 incomming and I already have the classified(NF200) and a UTx58EH8 and the boodrage :D, but I am broke now:(
