EVGA Classified+Retail Xeon W3540 Rule

I receive retail Xeon W3540 from newegg today. You guys already saw some results. I just share this cpu result quickly.


MB: EVGA Classified E760
CPU: Retail Xeon W3540 3846B017
Ram: GSKILL DDR3 2000 CL7-8-7-20
Cooling: kingpin F1EE


I only use -115 for testing. I still cannot believe so far.

That's a nice cpu-score for sure, but for me it seems that Classified is a bit slower clock for clock compared to other boards (at least with high bclk).

We reached a cpu-score of 10,051 points on a Rampage II Extreme - at 5,253 mhz cpu, only ~3.6 ghz uncore and memory running at 917 mhz with 8-8-7.

seems like uncore and timings is not THAT important in 06 cpu test..

vantage tho, thats another territory.. uncore/timings help ALOT from the testing Ive been doing.

You have special tweak at 05 on GTX 295. I don't think 5.6G 05 and single card GTX 295 1029/1250 cannot beat your score. That's no way single card GTX 295 on air beat my GTX 295 under LN2. Your 05 GT3 is so higher than anyone. I know it's NOT cpu problem.

My bad for not clarifying my clock speed. That pi run was run at just a little over 5.8Ghz

You would need more than 5.8Ghz on Classified to pass that score, efficiency is not the best on classified.
