Hi,
I have just got a 720BE, and was wondering.
What I should do?
I have an intel setup atm, but was wondering,
Should I:
1) 1) sell my current setup, and go AMD, my benches will get better, as the cpu has more oomph (btw, this is after benching me 7300 on SS)
2) sell the cpu I just won
3) keep both, and just have two setups (most likely one for benching, the other for daily use)
4) sell most of my current setup, but keep decent RAM, motherboard, then use profits from selling it, (going to build a comp for someone) to buy AMD stuff,. (meaning I have decent stuff for 775 benching)
Now, I know I asked about motherboards, and I was wondering, if i were to keep the cpu, what motherboard RAM combo would you recommend?
AM2+ or AM3 (money being an issue)
If I keep the AMD cpu, (very likely) I will be benching it, on SS, so, needs to be a decent motherboard
Sorry for the long post, hope you can help! (and hello to the AMD section, :P)

apparently the best AMD mobo money could buy right now is MSI G70...

Yeah, have seen it, but at 155 pounds, its not really an option.
I mean, ive decided that im going to keep the AMD, but still not sure what to do with it.
I mean, i could probs get 200 together for RAM/Motherboard,
If I go DDR2, I already have a spare 4gb , so that would save me some money,
Im looking for a good value motherboard, DDR2 or DDR3.

Value look into the AM2+ GX3 or AM3 GX3 by Biostar... They have value and have numerouse Bioses for some great Oc tweaking.
Were talking Budget with a Appitite overclocking style mobo which is already proven by many.
Also Biostar GX's have the option to use unlock Bios for 720 still. They Have updated the newest Bios to lock it but are keeping Old ones on hand for enthusiast to use .
You can find lots of info below and trust me ,,Biostar has a lot to offer for a Midrange budget Mobo AM2/AM3.

I looked at it originally, but I heard it has a weak cpu phase supply?
It looks good because its at a good price.
But im wondering is it good enough to not be the weak link when clocking on SS?
Thanks

Well ive seen the GX3 pushed real high ,, the One with PWM hetpipe on it. Read some of the GX3 post at rebels . thers lots of info.
If you want to spend more but still under the $150 mark ,, this Mobo is proven as well DFI AM2+ DK790FXB...
Nice mobo with all the Oc fratures youll ever need. Bioses can be tricky along with setting all the ram Variables and numerouse other features, im shure this one would work just fine with SS, Also good ideea to keep the PWMS cool with adding a fan.to heatsink . I alwaus do no matter the Mobo.

look at Gigabyte 790X and GX or Asus 790GX.. cost is between biostar and more expensive 790FX and has better phase cooling *advert says 8+2* :D

Well, I dont think im going to sell it, as I would like to get into AMD.
I have had a look at the Biostar, would like to use one, as I really like the i45 i have at the moment
However, the only one I can find with mosfet cooling, is AM3, and so im wondering whether its worth it?
Obviously, if I go AM3, I will also have to buy some DDR3
Thanks

ddr3 is rather cheap a good 2x2 ddr3 kit is about the same as a good 2x2 ddr2 kit

Yes, but, I already have DDR2, (spare aswell as my clocking kit)
