hey people, i have read somewhere in the intel subforum how to be able to get the 21 multiplier (forevver?)
but i can't find it anymore...
could someone explain how to do this (i have a REX 2 mobo), because it would make for a far beter 24/7 overclock

Forever? Huh? It's just a BIOS option, so you can enable and disable it as you please. The option is called "Turbo".

Download the lastest Rampage 2 Extreme BIOs, if this is your mobo.
On AI Tweaker, set multiplier to x21
On CPU feature (Or something like that) disable: C-State, TM Function, EIST (Speedstep), disable everything except Hyper Threading and cores.

Mmm as far as I know, with turbo 920 reach 21x.
But something I would like to know is... when you use turbo mode or 21x as you wish, it has and effect over the 4 cores or just 1?

On my DFI if you Enable Turbo mode (default) then it will raise the CPU multi to 22x if only One Core is in use or needed and to 21x if 2,3, or 4 cores are used. The non-turbo multi can only be set at max of 20x or lowered if you wish. I have also read that to use Turbo mode you must have EIST enabled.

thx 4 link ;)
so as I undestand ASUS just renamed turbo mode to 21-st multi? :D
It's confortable somehow, in some applications (like 3Dmark06) turbo mode aren't shown as actual value

No... Asus has another option to enable Turbo, it's just called Turbo Mode like other motherboards... The thing is if you set manually the multiplier, Turbo Mode Option adn EIST option dissapear.
For example, in EVGA boards, You set your multiplier to x20, disable EIST, and enable turbo, you have x21 multiplier.
