Hello there.

Well I'm a bit interested to know why some people are agree with xeon is better?

I dont know a lot about those CPUs, sincerely I didnt pay attention to them because in my lacked world they were made only for servers untilt I got noticed that they could achieve nice OC.

So, if someone could answer me, why they are better than the common cpu's? if they are so

Thanks a lot

AFAIK the Xeon chips are binned higher, and thus are more durable and can sustain higher temperatures without damage.

All the 35xx's are D0 stepping, so it's only fair to compare them to recent D0 cpu's, which are just coming into the distribution channels. When Intel announced the D0's, they stated that it was merely a cosmetic change to the labeling of the cpu, spoken like someone who had a huge warehouse full of c0's !!!!:ROTF:

You can't compare a w3520 with a i7 920 cause the they are different price points.

i can agree that they aren't fully unlocked on Asus boards, only 2 mem multis and no uncore/qpi settings. How is it on GB Boards ?

As far as I know, the are at the same price, I mean i7 920 D0 and Xeon 3520. At least that was what I saw on the Intel site.

Although a couple agreed with xeon are not supported on every motherboard, I still with doubt if they are better or not than the 920 D0.

Without forgetting the opinion from "urgrandpasdog". But I would like to know a little bit more.
Also If someone knows a site to get inform, please be my guest to share it.

Thanks to everyone.

:

Street price I've seen is about $420 for the W3520, 300-320 for the 920 D0

The W3580 will be the Xeon equiv to the upcoming i7 975EE. That's the Xeon to Own!
