I just got a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R and the board will "post" but once I get to the energy EPA polution preventer screen, all I get is...
EP45-UD3R F8
I can ctrl+alt+del to restart.
Upon boot, only tab works, I cannot use del to get into the bios.
This board was open box and I figure that's probably why (although why newegg would sell a bad board is beyond me). Has anyone run into this?

F8 supposedly refers to the bios. Maybe the previous owner bricked it?
Edit:
Now it will randomly see my e5200 (says 1.7 ghz, lol)
cpuid patch ID
Memory resting: 4193280K OK
Then sits and won't respond to anything other than a soft restart.

Even if the bios is corrupt that board features dual bios. Check manual and see what the process is for booting from the other bios. I'm downloading manual and looking now...

I installed a speaker to hear any error messages. I hear none.
I cleared the CMOS and I still have the issue. The mobo knows when I hit del, f9, f12 etc b/c the speaker sounds, but nothing happens.
Edit: restarted again, got to "DE Channel 1 Master: .
Its booting farther in, but no where close yet.
Edit 2:
If I hit delete once it stalls, it states "prepare to enter setup..." and sits.

I've read through the manual. It seems that if I can't do much of anything if I can't get into the bios.

Drop down to one stick of ram or perhaps a different single stick of some low rated speed ram. Also try that stick in different ram slots after a complete power down and discharge. If u get in bios load optimised defaults then see what the ram voltage is defaulting too. It may be too low. What ram are you using by the way? Single sided or double sided 2 Gig stick?

There's a reason it was an "Open Box"... Send it back to the Egg...

double sided 2 gig. I am trying all the slots. The ram is good. 2x2 gig ddr800 Geil evo 1.
I have some single sided 1 gig sticks i can try.

That's what I'm thinking.
I'll just order a new one. i was hoping to save 35 bucks. Oh well.
At least I got to to play around with it a tiny bit. I love the layout of the board. My Mugen 2 fits perfectly on it. Almost makes me wanna use it instead of liquid cooling when I move to core i7.
All my other components are known to work, so I'm 99.99999% sure its the board considering its open box and everything else has been tested in 2 or 3 different configurations.
