I am undecided on which to get. I was looking at the asus P6T Deluxe but they have also released the revsion 2 of the board. Apparently the SAS controller has been removed in the V2 (due to issues with it?).
It makes sense to get a newer revision of the board but looking at the bios releases, the V2 only has 2 releases while the original board has a half dozen.
Would it be logical to assume that the bios revisions for the V2, being newer would encompass all of the resolved issues in the multiple bios releases of the orginal P6T Deluxe?

I am not aware of any issues with the O/B SAS controller of the P6T DLX.
I haven't been using it actually, so take it with a grain of salt.
My observation of the V2 is taht ASUS realized that most users won't need the SAS support and therefore gave an option to their customers to decide and save the 10$.
If there was an issue that critical with the O/B SAS controller, I think they would have discontinue the V1, which they haven't done.
Regarding BIOS releases:
Since the V2 came out later than the V1 and the only difference between them is the SAS controller, I think the V2 already includes all fixes of the V1 prior to the V2 launch, hence, the lower amount of BIOS releases.
Bottom Line:
If you need the basic SAS support, go with the Deluxe V1, If you don't think you will need the SAS support in the near future, Go for the V2 and save yourself 10$.
I own the Deluxe version (V1) for a few months now an I am more than satisfied.

I have the V2 board but crossflashed to V1 bios 1403 that made 21x multiplier available that is not on the V2 302 BIOS, no problem here. if you need SAS then get V1 if not V2 will work just fine, or get whichever is cheaper.

Interesting. Thats what I needed to know regarding bios release as I use the 21x multi currently.
without that on the V2 board it makes it an easier choice.

V1 is not available in this part of the world (Hong Kong).
I bought the V2 last nite and the only grip I have is it only have 6 sata ports which I feel it is not enough for a "deluxe" board.
For the same price I can get the Gigabyte UD5 which I think have at least 10 sata ports but I like Asus which has more other features and better bios.

So just to confirm then, the V2 board current bios does not support the 21x multi while the regular deluxe board (Whichever bios is current) does?

V2 with the newest 302 BIOS you cannot select 21X multiplier manually, to use 21X multiplier you need to enable speedstep and turbo mode. But, with V2 board you can crossflash the bios with V1 version (1403 being the latest), that way you can manually select the 21X. You need to read the Asus P6T Deluxe Discussion Thread
