Gomeler and I got some decent pix from a demo at a LAN party last year. It was fun benching under the big projection screen with the LN2 fog and loud music. It was also a lot of fun having 2 nearly identical rigs side by side for comparisons.

Nice pics..I love seeing you guys benching the units more than my own work with them I swear, always brings a huge smile to my face :D..keep them coming!

@bluto Cool dimastech arc-press on the F1 there, is the container modified for the press? And we use the same stainless thermos..

Holy moly nice pics guys! So many shots. Overclocking prep is a really subjective thing and everyone has their own way. It's cool to see the subtle differences in the way you guys prep and bench the same cooling hardware. That individuality aspect of overclocking is important. There is not just one right way to do things, if you find something that works you live by it.

You always have to show off the frost-covered backsides of the cards don't you. :p:

The core scaling is not that bad with temperature...1300 should be pretty easy but the problem is that you can't hold high memory speeds with it. It's just like the GTX295, GTX285 or the 9800GX2, higher core speed leads to progressively decreasing memory speed. These cards need more mods to get around that.

I tried 1270 or so IIRC but just with the ram at 1000. Even at 1250 it seemed like I was stuck at 1150...:-/...best scoring combo was still a measly 1236/1175. Thing is it only needs -85 to do 1200/1175, then humongous jumps in temperature for small speed gains after that. This card needs the hipro or Shamino treatment for sure :D

i also tested 4890 on ln2 in few days ago, temps are no problem for the card, tek9 5.0 easily hold -193C under 01 - what a surprise, worked very well :D but sadly my card doesnt scaled good, 1150mhz/1100 was the max benchable clocks no matter what vgpu i use 1.40 or 1.60v, maybe its just a too early sample gpu on this card - its not retail - will try different card later :/

Before mounting the sinks , the VGA have been coated with plastic spray.

disassemble GTX295 > coat with plastic spray ( , and let it dry , coat it once more (frontside coated from the VGA cables to the PWM start (left to right) with the IHS , ICs and Caps/PWM taped in , backside got full spray without cover , especially the backside you really want to spray twice , let it dry and we are ready for next step > EnzoTech SLF-1s mounted with Ceramique , Swiftech MC14 with Akasa thermal adhesive tape > Tek5 > paper towel (will get back to this)

As you migth can see , the "only" beside the plasticspray is paper towel , from buttom of the card/pot its wrapped up into the middle of the card on each side of the pot , then the backsides of the card have got a layer , then in the middle of the card beside the pot in the "four corners" paper have been wrapped tightly from to snag over the card and tighten in buttom where it will overlapped and assignet with masking tape, this procedure goes on with the "corners" available (3)
