I have a question for you guys concerning something a little odd.

I am building a hackintosh when the parts come in (hopefully by this Friday or early next week). I've already built a fully working one, so there's no issue there.

The problem is that OCing in OSX is like trying to row with a golf club.

Can you effectively run prime95 in vmware and accurately test stability?

In case anyone wants to know, here's the parts I'm using:

(only bought the first 3)
e5200
scythe mugen 2
gigabyte ga-ep45-ud3r
seagate 320gig drive
8800gts g92
antec 300
500watt earthwatts

Hoping for 4.0ghz +

why not get a linux distro with stability tools or a windows drive and work from there then transition to osx

I just wanted to install everything in one go instead of doing xp, then taking the time to get the hack working.

Will I get a "false positive" if my system crashes or is stable or will it matter? That's all i want to know.
