Okay well yesterday my PC decided to kick the bucket. It starts but it doesn't recognize the lan and is very very very slow to boot up and it asks me if I want to check disk everytime I restart it. It also didn't want to start at some point so I replaced the PSU and the Memory and that didn't do the trick so it has come down to the HD, CPU or MOBO. If the onboard lan doesn't work could it be a bad hard drive ? Its very slow and I did have a chance to get all my important stuff off. I currently have a ECS Mobo a AMD 5000 and a WD SATA HD but I went to frys and picked up a Gigbyt MOBO a E5200 and a Seagate HD so I'm going to knock everything out one by one to see whats the culprit. I'm really hoping its the mobo and cpu =D so I could keep the cpu and HD =D

what do you guys think ?

I hate to say this but it looks like your HDD, slow boot times and check disk point to this. If your LAN is not recognized, it could mean driver failing to load because of corruption on HDD. Since you have already managed to get your data off, run UBCD tests (http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/) on your setup starting with HDD.

It says check disk and the drive is not working properly. It's probably damaged. Get your data off ASAP. If you need to doublecheck, use Seagate SeaTools for Windows to run HDD diagnostics. Check their site.
