This along with intel $ drops = good time for SSD. I though I was atleast a build or two away from an SSD but I'm seriously considering it now.

damn just got my Vertex drive lol

Intel's X-25E (SLC drive) is almost 800$ for the 60GB version (OCZ is listing a 60 and a 120 version), I have no inside information but I wouldn't expect the 60GB drive to be less than $500-$600 considering they would still be a screaming bargain.

Dont make fun of Tony.... SLC probably will be going away soon enough. But just cause he was sharing market predictions and how technology is going doesnt mean that suddenly tomorrow morning there will be no such thing as an SLC drive.

If you read the thread he linked to, you would see that Tony himself said before "SLC is going away"... But really, he just meant from home/desktop users. It will continue to be big for enterprise.

if you read the thread I linked to, you would see that Tony never didn't say "SLC is gong away" ... and what he meant is correct. SLC for end user is not an affordable solution. so no need for "lol" posts... imho
