I'm always interested in new applications that push computers, so I wanted to try out AMD's new Fusion Media Explorer. It's not that I don't have plenty of ways to see all the content on my computer, but more that I'm curious about how the user interface might evolve to reflect the computing power we now all have. After all, the basic concept of the desktop as used in Windows, Mac, and the big Linux distributions is mostly just a refinement of technology that is nearly 30 years old.
