View Full Version : Water cooling - GTX295's in Quad-SLi - How to run tubing?

Hello Everyone,

I will be receiving my second waterblock (Koolance) for my second GTX 295 and have a question - being that they will be so close together, can someone tell me how it is possible to run the tubing or is there an adapter of some sort to run the liquid from one GTX295 to the other?

I can't seem to think how the tubing will probably work.

Thanks!

Dave

Something like this (http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/bishg14sidse.html) is what you need.

That looks promising, however still wondering how I will run the tubing. The setup is something like (Excuse my poor ascii skills):

-------------------[]-------------|
-----------[]---------------------|
|
-------------------[]-------------|
-----------[]---------------------|

So assuming the ---- is the top/botom of video cards 1 and 2 and the [] are the fittings, how exactly would I get the tubings to align?

It is more like this:

-----------[]----- []-------------|
-----------[]------[]-------------|
|
-----------[]------[]-------------|
-----------[]------[]-------------|

There are holes on each side.

So I can basically move the barbs around? I see the holes, but on the one I currently have I never bothered to move the covers around, thinking it wasn't supposed to be touched:

yeah you use a d link and connect 2 of them together it all depends on the distance between each card

You can PM Dean to double check, but you should be able to move the barbs around.

NaeKuh: did you spring a leak at some point ? The bottom of your case looks like it has water spots.

What's wrong with just using these:

I'll be using one of the 2 slot ones on my Koolance VID-NX285s

coolmeister, is that two G 1/4 inch barbs wrapped in tubing? hmm... Its smart but not neat at the least. I think I might go with faster's recommendation.

Thanks everyone!

yes, a bitspower crystal L is to blame for. It cracked on me, and well, there garbage even with bitspower fittings.

There very selective. Meaning, they might fit on some blocks, but wont on others. The dplugs are variable so they go in and out, while the koolances arent.

Yeah, that does look like a lot of weight to be hanging off of a plastic 90deg fitting.

Sorry to hear it, but the new metal one looks pretty ! :D

The OP is using Koolance blocks isn't he? I'd think Koolance would design their SLI pipes to work with their own blocks.

yeah thats what i heard too, but when they made them, it was off old blocks and not new.

I use the fittings for hard fittings which need to be variable. They twist far better and easier then the bitspower fittings.

Example:

but ive had those fittings, and there not really cross compatiable with blocks.

ive been asking dean to bug the guys in RnD for variable fittings.

It really depends if you know for sure how far apart the cards will be. I used the one like what faster3200 described.

Ive had those... there alright... but due to pressure from skinnee he made me swap to dplugs. He didnt like how it shrank in diameter like that on the bottom.

My hardware count is scaring ya huh?

Thanks.

The only ones that fit on an I7 board with the koolance blocks is the one rambler has and the Swiftech SLI connector. All of the others are too long since the cards are VERY close together on X58 boards!!
