I was playing around with the idea of putting two 280's in my computer in the future, and by chance i noticed an 8 pin power connector on one of them as i goggles pics. Turns out these things need essentially 3 6-pin connectors per card, and although i have 1000watts i dont have any of these 8pins, just four 6 pin 75W connectors.
So i was thinking i would (using an adapter) send the first two 6-pin connectors to the first 8 pin, and 3rd 6-pin on the first 6-pin on card 1. This leaves me with one 6-pin connector and one GTX 280, so basically i need to find a way to power an 8 pin connector with some of my spare cables.
I have two 4pin, and one 6 pin molex connector free, also i have 4 12v lines that are free if all else fails
My primary question is what can be done with this cable, i dont know what it is exactly
