Please start seperate topics for each question. Windows activation has nothing to do with sound out, which has nothing to do with hot flashing (besides, the latter can be answered with a simple search anyway).

I would answer your questions, but you were extremely rude to me in the past, so...:stick:

Word of advise: Don't mess with the Duck  word of advice from and for cheap people
you loosen the chip up buy pulling it out while the pc is off, reinsert it half way then boot up.be carefull and pull the chip with your finger nails.

now on reinserting just be carefull aligning all the pins up so it doesnt go in :banana::banana::banana:eyed and push in easy.even if you buy the tools you still have to do this.and buy leaving it half inserted before the pull its no biggy.

be carefull also.when you reinsert it it is possable to really mess pins up on the chip.just go slow and u will be fine.

ive done this as ive flashed a dead 8rda with my nf7-s by swapping chips also.

Remember to be careful with a razor blade, you don't want to cut up your hands.

screw my hands i didnt want to bend one of the ic legs off, or bend them so they wont work again. one bad bend and if you try and bend it back they are so weak it feels it will snap off.

razor blades are my best tools i use.that and fingernail polish remover.my folks prolly think i just have a weird drug habit and like cross dressing or something lol

guys remember THE SYS HAS TO BE ON.
"just make sure everything is unplugged."
cant happen if everythings on can it? i think that leaving it out halfway is a liil risky. oops one of the legs didnt touch correctly...damn now i have no bios.

it should be off when you pull it completly out to reseat it half way is what i mean.the legs all make contact it half way.and i dont see how it can screw the bios up as erasing it.

hey just offering the advice asked of me.
wether its taken, done, ignored is of no matter to me.
not to sound upset and im not but about everything we do here has risks.buy the tool as it my be handy.

could be possable you missed a nforce mobo driver for the chipset?been a while since ive seen a nf7 in my hands so i dont remember all the mobo drivers names.

i do kinda remember having a hard time getting my speaker input in the socket also.worked after a few trys tho.

if you're worried about damaging something while removing the BIOS chip, maybe you should get one of those IC extractors. they aren't too expensive.

corbec

ive removed it many times before...i just need something thats not metal to remove it...thats all.

well, i generally find that using the tool designed for the job is much easier.

sure i agree 100%. just i didnt want to spend 10bucks for a plastic tool when i have dentist tools that will work. i just need to wait for my mom to bring home her plastic ones.

i got the sound working...
i had to push harder than i wanted to to get the jacks in, but now they go in without much problem. also i had to goto device manager and goto everything related to audio and click install drivers for that. also there were a bunch of conflicts between the 6 nforce2 mem controllers (6 in device manager???wtf) so i had to individually install drivers for em.

now the only problem is the front channel is like 2x as loud as rear. there is no way to change that. but i remember with my old soundcard there was a front rear option...how do i change this? also the subwoofer/center line out doesnt work...but if i plug the center/sub into the rear or front port it works. i have it set to 5.1surround sound as my headphones are 5.1 surround

That's what I thought, but they are surprisingly resilient, I have an NF7-S BIOS chip that was mangled to hell on extraction, but after a bit of bending, all is fine, so if they do bend, just go gentle and easy, and all should be fine.

And Volcom, I could do with a few new pairs of combat pants if your name has any relation to the company. :p:
