I'm having problem at burning cd's with my setup(it won't go past the lead in), i tried the latest nvidia drivers but that didn't help. I've heard that the problem might come from the ide drivers. I need some help fast
So far i've burnt 3cds and i've failed 3, i'm rather pi§§ed atm

just for fun put cpu at stock speed and the ram at stock speed and timeings.
ive found sometimes small minute things that you would never notice in an oced system affect this stuff.

You need to post info on your setup, try setting it to master on a different controller to your primary HD.

Have a shot at swithching back to the default windows IDE drivers, from what I have read the nVidia ones seem to cause a lot of problems.

I tried it stone and it helped midly meaning if i use nero i've a rate of 50% of success burn but with 120% alcohol i get nearly 100% (if the burn fail, it never write something on the disk so i don't lose it) however it takes more than 2min for the lead in, instead of copying the cd in 3-4min i do it in 6-8 min

It could be a burning software issue then, do you have more than one piece of burning software installed? I don't know if it applies now, but a while ago having more than one burning program installed was a big no-no.
Failing that, it could be something to do with copy protection if you are using Alcohol for it's "usual task". :D

I'm not using alcohol the way you're thinking ;)
I've installed clonecd (for the virtual drive mostly), nero, and now i tried burnatonce (didn't help and i'll uninstall it) and 120% alcohol

Hmmm, I'm pretty much out of ideas than I'm afraid, I have never had any troubles with CD burning personally, although I'm sure somebody on here will have an idea of what it could be, sorry mate. :(

The IDE drivers caused me some problems, although the new ones seem ok.
Formatt wont hurt if you have the time.
