I'm getting a APC backup ups xs 900 for free, I was looking at the ratings on it and it says 540w max. I was wondering if this will work with my system in my sig, I will be going quadfire with another 4870x2 and yea so let me know if this thing will atleast keep my system on for afew mins so I can safely shut down the pc in times of power outage.

Probably not, the system in my sig maxed out a Belkin 800uva (~460Watt) UPS when on full load, it took it to about 107% when running Furmark and had to close the system down.
I used this PSU/UPS calculator and it was fairly accurate in calculating my system draw. I then upgraded to a cheap 1200 UPS for my rig and use the 800 for monitor, router etc
