Your not putting the prommie on it?
2fast4u

It will get the prommie, but I want to get the feel of it first, so I ordered a hs/fan. Plus I want to have it ready to run for a LAN party at my house this coming Thursday and my sig rig is a real pain to tear apart. All the stuff in my sig is inside the case(minus prommie of course) and would have to be moved and mounted in the new case. I

I always set up a new mb/cpu on air first anyway. Even if only for a day, that way if I have problems with boot or stability issues I have fewer things that I have to diagnose as the potential problem. Not to metion the PITA of taking apart the promie cooling if I run into problems with intial setup just to find that I've left a molex unpluged. ;)
Good luck with your setup, sounds great !

:slobber: Looks like an extremely nice setup. With that Prometeia on and a watercooled XT, you won't be setting any records... But it should be pretty f'ing impressive at a LAN party. :D:eek:

Nope...an 80 WATT TEC cooled XT! and it'll be a record for meeeeeee!!!!

Excellent choice of system components imo.
Great system! :D
:toast:
Only changes I would make for "Dream machine" would be PCP&C 510 PSU and the new native Raptor drives.

You got the best components, now we expect to see the best performance. :D
I can't wait to see how she runs, keep us up to date.

I heard some say they had 3.3 rail problems after a while with the 510 and it scared me away. I did think about getting it anyway. What new Raptors? Didn't know there were any. The place I order from is a W.D. launch partner and I didn't see them.

I haven't heard of any problems with the 3.3 on the 510...could it have been the 425? Anyway, they have a 5 yr warranty.
I think the new Raptors are 72gb cap drives and are rather expensive from what I hear...around $300 each....but run like a bat out of hell.;)
I was holding off until they came out but the price scared me away for now.

I heard that! That's why I reffered to it as "Dream Machine". The 2 36gb drives will be fine and the price has dropped down on them with the release of the new ones.
But I would go with the 510....it's all I will get from now on and wish I had been buying them all along. I have a couple of 520 TTGIs and 550TCs and for a few bucks more the 550TCs could have been PCP&C PSUs.:(

What is it that has you sold on the 510? I have never had one so I can't really say much about them , only what I have heard. I know that you know your stuff so they must be pretty good!

I just got my first 510 last week so it's only been running for a week. The thing is built like a tank and the rails hold dead on with all I can throw at it...not low...not high....dead on as measured thru the connectors with a cheap Craftsman Multimeter and in the bios. There is the option of adjustable pots inside the cover should you need them, but I doubt you will. It's the best PSU I have ever had. If there are better ones out there, I have not discovered one yet.:D

Sounds pretty nice, where is the best place to pick one up?
TheDude
11-07-2003, 06:58 AM
I bought mine directly...$189 with free shipping. If you check around places like oxide, sidewinder, etc....you may save $10.
Also...if you have any technical questions, call PCP&C and ask for a tech named Larry. He knows more about PSUs than anyone should. ;)

Check out the new posts over at the DF forum. My son is on at school and I'm trying to get him to run the DF client on the school network!! Probably can't run any kind of batch file though because of security. We can get around it though!!

LMAO!
I got pretty much the same thing, big yellow City-Link vans have become a regular fixture round here, I was actually upset when I moved, because I lost my reliable delivery guy. :D

So far today, I have had 3 deliveries, Fedex, UPS and then a different Fedex van with an overnite delivery...all within a half hour.:D but that's not typical.
